Veteran's Wife Alleges Cops Assaulted Him At An Ole Miss-LSU Game

"YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. THIS IS NOT OK."

A Mississippi woman is claiming that cops used unnecessary force on her husband while arresting him at Saturday's Ole Miss-LSU game, leaving him with a concussion and fractures to his orbital wall. She additionally alleges that he never received medical attention for his injuries.

"YOU ARE NOT ABOVE THE LAW. THIS IS NOT OK," Holly Barnes wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday. "Please help us get justice by calling out this police officer!"

According to Barnes, her husband, Chris Barnes, is a two-time veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. She posted a video along with her Facebook post that appears to show the moment her husband was arrested by police at the stadium.

While the entirety of the incident cannot be seen in the video, Chris can be seen face to face with the cop. After a few moments, there appears to be an altercation, although the details of the scene are not entirely apparent.

The University Police has said that they are looking into the matter. "The officers involved are not officers with the University Police Department, but are certified officers from other jurisdictions hired to work security at home football games," Ole Miss Police said in a Facebook post on Sunday morning.
