Founded on the insight that growth as an actor and growth as a human being are synonymous, the award winning Outreach Division of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, returned to Vieques, Puerto Rico, bringing a fourth consecutive session of Free Actor Training to over 30 underserved high school students at the non-profit Reach for Success.

Outreach Director, Tommy Demenkoff, together with Movement Instructor Joanne Edelmann, lead 7 days of classes in voice & speech, movement and acting technique. The week culminates in a public sharing for the entire island, with students presenting original poetry, plays, art, music and movement, celebrating the history of the island and this unique opportunity to find their voices in as instruments in a powerful dialogue of social justice.

Demenkoff says, "We currently have two students from Teatro de Vieques who have come to New York, and are on a scholarship at the studio. It is the hope of the studio and Reach for Success that we are able to offer this important educational experience for these students for many years to come.
