It doesn't take much for us to get sucked into a Golden Age film marathon on Turner Classic Movies. Vivien Leigh, Rita Hayworth, Lauren Bacall, Veronica Lake and other actresses from that era oozed sex appeal in satin gowns, luxurious furs and red lipstick. But what we envy most about these screen sirens, were their '40s waves.
The deep side-part, cascading curls framed their faces perfectly -- giving way to their coy smiles and come-hither eyes. Mostly seen on long-haired stars, it can also be reinterpreted on shorter lengths as an updo. This vintage hairstyle may come across as complicated, but thanks to advancements in hair styling tools (hello, hot rollers!), channeling these movie maidens can be easily done in a matter of minutes.
