Vitalii Sediuk, Grammy Awards Crasher, Facing Jail Time

Jail Time For This Stunt

Bad news for Vitalii Sediuk.

The European TV personality, who has made a name for himself by pranking celebrities, is facing possible jail time for his February stunt of crashing the stage at the 55th annual Grammy Awards.

Sediuk walked on the stage when Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull were presenting Adele with the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. Sediuk went largely unnoticed, except for Lopez who was motioning him off the stage.

"The idea to go on the stage came up at the last second," Sediuk said of the prank. "To be honest, Adele is my favorite singer. So when I heard her name, I came up with this idea to go up on the stage and say what I said. I pretended this was an award for me, and then I said, 'Thank you, Adele. You’re my inspiration.'"

The prankster spent the night in jail after the performance, facing charges of trespassing. Unfortunately for Sediuk, that night may not be the last that he spends in a cell. THR reports that Sediuk has been charged with "one count of willfully leaving a spectator area and entering a performance area and one count of interfering and delaying program participants." These charges could require Sediuk to spend six months in jail and pay a fine of $2,000.
