Waka Flocka Flame Clears Up 'Flockaveli 2' Collaboration Rumors: 'I Don't Even Deserve A Jay Z Feature'

Waka Flocka Flame: Jay Z Isn't On My Album Because I 'Don't Deserve' It

While many hip-hop artists are notorious for their confident, self-aggrandizing attitudes, Waka Flocka Flame took a distinctively different approach during a conversation with HuffPost Live on Tuesday.

The rapper debunked reports that his new album "Flockaveli 2" will feature collaborations with Jay Z and Kanye West, telling host Marc Lamont Hill he doesn't think he's worthy of bringing those artists onto his songs:

I don't even deserve a Jay Z feature ... 'cause I ain't go gold or platinum. To me, you can't work with a gold or platinum artist if you haven't [gone] gold or platinum -- even though I can still bring a crowd bigger than probably 90 percent of the gold and platinum artists. When I say gold and platinum I mean they're legends, not record sales. You know what I mean? Like, what did I do to deserve a Jay Z feature or a 'Ye feature? I gotta work for that, man.

While Waka tweeted his name among arguably some of the most popular rappers in recent memory, he told Hill that he doesn't aspire to be the next Drake, Jay Z or Kanye.

"I won't be none of them, but I'm going to be next to all of them," he said.
