A Look Back At The Waldo Canyon Fire, Now Fully Contained

The Waldo Canyon Fire, the most destructive wildfire in Colorado history, is officially 100 percent contained as of Tuesday, July 10.

Burning since June 23, the fire began in Pike National Forest, about three miles west of Colorado Springs. By June 26, the fire exploded toward the city engulfing several neighborhoods in flames. By June 27, more than 32,000 residents were evacuated.

Waldo Canyon Fire took the lives of two people, destroyed nearly 350 homes and consumed 18,247 acres.
