'Walking Dead' Breaks Ratings Records

AMC's "The Walking Dead" made history Sunday night when its second season premiered to record-high audiences. A total of 7.3 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere, making it the highest-rated drama telecast in basic cable history in two key demos.

4.8 million adults ages 18-49 tuned in, which marked a significant rise from last year's average of 2.7 million adults. 4.2 million viewers in the 25-54 demo also watched the show. Both figures set records.

"The Walking Dead" broke records during its first season as well, with its finale drawing the most adult viewers aged 18-49 in basic cable history.
