Here's proof of the magic of Flickr: You can find great house tours from the '60s (and beyond). Today's find is the Bentonville, Arkansas Walton family house, as photographed in 1961. You know the Waltons better as the family behind Walmart. Unearthed by the fabulous Flickr user MidCentArc, the photos give a peek into a relatively modest (for a family whose riches could afford a San Simeon of their own) home that checks off all the '60s trends: Geometric cut-outs, stacked stone, low-slung furniture and built-ins. This family home also was built before Walton opened the first Walmart, in 1962.
What do you think of the house?
