Corey Lewandowski Says Donald Trump Won The War On Christmas

"You can say it again, it’s OK to say, it’s not a pejorative word anymore.”

One of Donald Trump’s surrogates is declaring victory on the so-called War on Christmas.

Speaking on Fox News on Tuesday night, former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski claimed it was safe to say “Merry Christmas” again.

“You can say again, ‘Merry Christmas,’ because Donald Trump is now the president,” he told Sean Hannity. “You can say it again, it’s OK to say, it’s not a pejorative word anymore.”

Trump and his surrogates have repeatedly claimed there’s a war on Christmas ― and falsely accused President Barack Obama and others of refusing to acknowledge the holiday.

Trump made “Merry Christmas” a steady campaign talking point, even bringing it up in June. He also threatened a boycott of Starbucks last year for making coffee cups that weren’t Christmasy enough.

Eric Trump claimed in August that one of the motivating factors for his father’s run for office was a report that the White House renamed its Christmas tree a “holiday tree” ― which did not happen.

So, in honor of all the times Obama supposedly refused to say “Merry Christmas,” here’s a video Slate made last year of the president saying it again... and again... and again...
