Warnings? Warnings? The Words Shove It Come To Mind

The war on terror that Bush talks about is a war on fundamental Islam, and who is schooling these fundamentalists? That's right, Saudi Arabia.

No, no he didn't. Anderson Cooper did not just say what I think he said. The Saudis have issued a warning to the Bush Administration?

I heard it wrong. I must have. Off to Google News. Let me just type in "Saudi Arabian warning." Up pops this from the December 12, 2006 New York Times, the paper of record.

"WASHINGTON, Dec. 12 -- Saudi Arabia has told the Bush administration that it might provide financial backing to Iraqi Sunnis in any war against Iraq's Shiites if the United States pulls its troops out of Iraq, according to American and Arab diplomats. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia conveyed that message to Vice President Dick Cheney two weeks ago during Mr. Cheney's whirlwind visit to Riyadh, the officials said. During the visit, King Abdullah also expressed strong opposition to diplomatic talks between the United States and Iran, and pushed for Washington to encourage the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians, senior Bush administration officials said.

"The Saudi warning reflects fears among America's Sunni Arab allies about Iran's rising influence in Iraq, coupled with Tehran's nuclear ambitions. King Abdullah II of Jordan has also expressed concern about rising Shiite influence, and about the prospect that the Shiite-dominated government would use Iraqi troops against the Sunni population."

My friend the King of Saudi Arabia...Saudi Arabia wants a unity Government in Iraq

Where do I begin? Saudi Arabia has TOLD the Bush Administration...King Abdullah CONVEYED that message to Vice President Dick Cheney...Cheney's whirlwind visit (read SUMMONS)...STRONG OPPOSITION to diplomatic talks between U.S. and Iran (dictating our foreign policy is he?)....The Saudi WARNING...

OK, 24 hour rule. Go to bed, then finish this article. Too angry right now, maybe a cooler head will prevail.

Wake up, President Bush is on TV saying absolutely nothing about the way out of Iraq. But during the ten minute fluff piece President Bush says, "My FRIEND the King of Saudi Arabia has TOLD me he wants a unity government in Iraq..." And continues to blather, discount the Iraq study group and say that he, the great decider isn't going to decide a thing for some time, although Americas are dying. Geez, you mean, you're staying in Iraq like the Saudi's want.

OK, now I've had enough. I'm about to say something I don't write often, because it's a vile, disgusting word and I'm sure editors will take it out. But fuck the Saudi's. Let me say it again, FUCK the SAUDIS. I am sick to death of this backwards woman-hating oil-rich nation dictating our foreign policy because they've got the drug to which we are addicted and they have long standing ties with the Bush Administration. I am SICK of the United States acting like they are our best friends, our President skipping through a garden with their King, Bandar Bush on the balcony of White House smoking cigars and watching the Pentagon burn. Their families being ushered out of the country before any Americans could fly after 9/11.

To be clear, Americans, a majority of the 9/11 hijackers, remember 9/11? Well, to be clear, a majority of the 9/11 hijackers were from where? Saudi Arabia. And then there's the public enemy #1 that we could care less about these days, Osama Bin Laden. Wait, where was that "terrorist" from? That's right, Saudi Arabia. And where did he get his funding? The Bin Laden family construction company, and where did they and do they still get their money? Oh yes, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia.is home to the Wahhabi madrasas, the schools where they teach fundamentalist Islam, the same type of Islam that says go out and kill Americans. According to a June 14, 2004 article in The Guardian, "Yet if more of the Muslim world is now open to a newly intolerant and violent strain of Islam, no force has been more responsible than Saudi Arabia. Ever since the 1930s, the Saudis have promoted Wahhabism, the most severe incarnation of Islam. After the oil boom of the early 1970s this became a fundamental tenet of Saudi foreign policy, and a sizeable slice of the country's vast oil revenues has been devoted to promoting Wahhabism at the expense of more tolerant forms of Islam. The Saudis have provoked a clash of civilisations, not so much between east and west as within Islam itself."

In other words, the war on terror that Bush talks about is a war on fundamental Islam, and who is schooling these fundamentalists? That's right, Saudi Arabia.

I have always wondered why it wasn't Saudi Arabia that we attacked after 9/11. The attackers came from there, Osama came from there, funding came from there, they school future terrorists there...oh ya, the oil.

OK, America, it's time we make a choice, and this means our corporate leaders and our government leaders. Either we get off the tit of oil all together, right away, starting in 2007, or we lay in bed with these people. And I, for one, want out. Build nuclear plants in the U.S. We'll make them safe. We'll have to. Other nations do. Explore other areas of fuel. Get the Oil Tar fields in Canada going much faster. Sacrifice. Yes. Sacrifice. Rolling blackouts. Limited travel. Whatever. It's worth it to get away from being in bed with these people. I am sick of them telling us what to do, because they hold the cache of our drug of choice.

Go ahead, back the Sunni insurgents. You wage war in Iraq and lose your people. I'm sick of Americans dying, let Saudis die trying solve this mess in their region of the world. They helped create some of the religious monsters that are fighting there now.

And if we are #1, if we are the greatest country on the planet, if we are the world's Superpower, then let's start acting like it. One small, little oil rich nation in the Middle East should not be able to squeeze our nuts in a vice. All these people are fighting over RELIGION. One religious group is afraid that another religious group is going to take over. They are heading towards WORLD WAR when it should be CIVIL WAR. Why, oil?

Now maybe I'm being harsh. Maybe there's many wonderful Saudis and maybe they are just looking out to protect their interests. But we can never have an honest dialogue about the Saudis or their intentions in this country when the Bush family fortunes are tied to them, when America works smoothly on the grease they supply.

Let Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, all of them fight it out. Let the world take a step back, and use oil from other nations in the mean time. If it means we grind to a halt for a while, well, maybe a slow down is what we need to show us. Maybe we, as addicts, need to bottom out, our supply needs to run out for a while. We need to detox.

Because, if the Saudis funnel money to the Sunni insurgents in Iraq, what it means is that YOU will be funneling money to the insurgency. Saudi money is our money. Face it America, you helped fund 9/11. No one has blamed you for it, but Saudi money, not-so-indirectly funded the terrorists, their families, schooled many of them.

Yes, I am angry. Angry that my government has gotten us so deeply in bed with these people, all our governments since the 1940s. It's a shame.

But I do know this, our leader is weak and the Saudis smell blood in the water. They are moving forward and making demands. If we let the Saudis, the Iranians, the other oil rich nations start using their black goop as political leverage they will not stop. They'll start dictating American foreign policy in many, many ways. Meanwhile, they continue to school extremists with our money and claim to be our friends.

And let's not pretend this war was about anything but oil. It is all becoming very clear now. Our Americans are dying to stop oil from falling in to the hands of extremists. Bush said so on December 13, 2006 during a press conference. But, who, President Bush, are the extremists here? It getting mighty tough to tell the players in this game of war. The "good guys" are fading fast, looking more like the "extremists" by the day.

Well, with friends like these...
