CES, the world's largest consumer technology trade show, descends upon Las Vegas next week and Freshwire will be there. What should we expect? If recent history is any indication, a lot of talk about smart TVs.

TVs connected to the Internet directly or through another device offer a multitude of fun-sounding applications, like streaming video, music, games, social media and shopping, just to name a few.

And by all accounts, connected TVs and devices are making a major play for dominance. In fact,
eMarketer predicts that by the end of 2013, over 35 million US households will have a connected TV.

But another, perhaps more telling, report emerged recently, showing that we do like using our smart TVs to stream video and even music to a lesser extent. But all that other stuff? Not so much. So what gives?
