Everyone knows that dogs are man's best friend. But they can also be wonderful teachers.

The West Michigan Humane Society has created the B.A.R.C. Program -- Building Adolescent Responsibility and Compassion -- where youth offenders at the Kent County Juvenile Detention Center are given the chance to rehabilitate rescue dogs.

They choose adolescents to be a part of a four week session in where the youth learn to train and care for the dogs. Teaching them responsibility and that there's always time for a fresh start, HooplaHa met up with the group and their pups to tell their inspirational story.
