It's not that easy being gold.
Tara Lipinski, who won the Olympic gold medal for ladies singles figure skating in 1998 at the age of 15, appeared on HuffPost Live to talk about the challenges and triumphs of talented young athletes in the spotlight.
"I feel like you're in competition with yourself, every day, to be better," she said. In response to a viewers comment about how the term "child prodigy" undercuts athletes' hard work, Lipinsky spoke about the dedication to training that she and other child athletes, no matter how talented, must demonstrate if they want to succeed.
The segment, which aired Thursday December 12, was presented by the Netflix documentary "The Short Game," which follows some of the world's most talented 7-year-old golfers as they train for the World Championships of Junior Golf. Check out the trailer for the original film below:
