Sometimes you just want to look extra sparkly and beautiful. It’s a feeling the parents of 2-year-old Norah got all too acquainted with when their daughter made an epic mess of herself and the family’s bathroom with cosmetic glitter.
Josh and Jessica Pierce caught the scene of the crime on film, panning up and down their glitter-encrusted daughter as they question her about why she didn’t listen to her parents, while also trying not to laugh.
The parents shared the video on Facebook with the caption, “There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.”
The family was preparing to attend a Super Bowl party when Norah disappeared into the bathroom to play peekaboo. When Jessica caught sight of the state of Norah and the bathroom, she closed the door and told her husband to grab the camera.
“I just wanted to put glitter on my face,” pleads Norah to her parents in the video. “Look, it looks beautiful.”
Jessica had bought the glitter to play fairy dress-up with Norah and her sister.
“I didn’t know whether to laugh or scold her,” Josh told The Huffington Post of Norah, whom he says has a “troublemaker” personality but gets away with it because she’s adorable. “This became so epic and Jessica couldn’t stop laughing, and I knew that I needed to tell her that she shouldn’t be doing this, but at the same time I couldn’t stop laughing.”
Despite the laughter, both parents give sighs at the end that will resonate with any parent who has ever had a giant toddler mess to clean up.
After a full day of sweeping and picking up glitter with duct tape for the bathroom, and three or four baths for Norah, both are finally (mostly) glitter-free. But Josh says the glitter still pops up in unexpected places.
“My wife found glitter on my forehead a week later, and I was like ‘I have bathed several time since this happened,’” Josh said.
