What inspires me most about social media is the platform it offers to share ideas, build community, and connect with others around the world. Through my YouTube channel, I strive to raise awareness about important issues and historic milestones, from the United States Supreme Court decision on marriage equality to the Ireland marriage referendum vote.

As the 2016 election season heats up, I'm excited to see how YouTube and social media are embraced by politicians and their supporters to participate in important conversations and reach younger audiences.

I had the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of Hillary Clinton's campaign this weekend as they prepared for Sunday's Democratic Debate. I vlogged the whole experience (including some time with Hillary!) and chatted with voters of all different backgrounds about why every young person should get involved with politics. My audience is predominantly first time potential voters, so I hope this video shows the energy and excitement on the Presidential campaign trail and inspires even more people to get involved and engage in respectful political discourse.
