Wavefront Music Festival Lineup: Inaugural Chicago Festival To Hit Montrose Beach (VIDEOS)

New Beachfront Music Festival Unveils Lineup

The initial lineup announcement of another festival coming to Chicago proves, once more, that Lollapalooza and Pitchfork are far from the only large-scale music shows in town this summer.

Wavefront Music Festival on Thursday announced the "first wave" of its electronic music-geared lineup. Headlined by Duck Sauce (Armand Van Helden and A-Trak), Erick Morillo, Sasha and Boys Noize, the festival is slated for June 30-July 1 on the city's Montrose Beach.

The event will also feature DJ sets by James Murphy and Pat Mahoney, both of LCD Soundsystem fame, and Matthew Dear.

"Electronic music keeps getting more and more popular and we felt like the time was right to bring something to Chicago that they've never seen before," Carone told NBC.

Further lineup announcements will be made on the festival's Twitter page and tickets -- $49 for a one-day pass, $89 for a two-day pass or $199 VIP admission for the weekend -- are already on sale.

Wavefront is only the latest new electronic music-centric festival Chicago has seen. Soldier Field will play host June 16-17 to the inaugural Spring Awakening Music Festival, headlined by Skrillex, Afrojack, Benny Benassi and Moby.

Additionally, the third annual North Coast Music Festival, which will be held over Labor Day weekend in Union Park, has yet to announce its 2012 lineup.
