You can already clean with the news, eat the news and wipe with the news. And now, new technology is allowing you to wear the news too.

Several news app developers are experimenting with sending news stories to wearable technology such as Google Glass and smartwatches, Agence France Presse reported. One of those apps is known as News Republic, a program that sends news to mobile devices from outlets like Reuters, Al Jazeera and the Associated Press. By sending news directly to people's wrists or eyewear, breaking news is able to get out faster and more efficiently than ever. (Whether it will be disorienting to have a headline flash in front of your eyeballs is another matter.)

"When the iPhone came out, people were saying that not one would read news on a phone," News Republic chief executive Gilles Raymond said. "Now nobody is saying that. People will read articles on a watch. They may not read 300 articles, but people adapt quickly to technology."

Of course, all those smartwatches and Google Glasses have to actually get onto the shelves first.
