Wedding Website: New Wedding Website Creator, Weduary, Connects Guests Before The Big Day

Help Your Single Guests Flirt Online Before The Big Day

We've all seen the rom-coms where single folks meet at a wedding, hook up and live happily ever after (see "The Five-Year Engagement" for a most recent example).

But does the couple getting hitched ever have a hand in making that happen? Aside from putting certain friends next to each other at the singles table, we're guessing they don't put much effort into it.

Now, however, soon-to-be-spouses can help their single friends get to know each other before the Big Day -- and possibly help them find love. New wedding website builder Weduary, which launched Monday, lets couples build customizable wedding websites that use social networks like Facebook to connect guests on their sites, in addition to sharing essential info, like location and registry details, with those attending.

Using their Facebook log-ins, guests can use Weduary to see what they have in common with other wedding go-ers, share personal stories about the marrying couple, and even declare their single status to maximize flirting as the wedding day approaches.

"I’m pretty sure our single friends loved the site the most," said site creator Brit Morin, who built her wedding website with Weduary before her own nuptials last July. "We used a feature called “Flirt” to show them all the other single people who were coming and suggested who should meet based on the things they had in common -- after all, research proves that common friends are the primary introducers of married couples."

Though Weduary's hardly the first wedding website creator out there -- eWeddings.com and TheKnot.com both offer customizable template services -- few sites take full advantage of social networking the way Weduary does.

Morin said it was the social aspect of the site that made her celebration such a stress-free success. Now, she says she hopes to recreate the experience for other couples with Weduary.

"My husband and I found that having our guests connect before the wedding made our wedding and reception so much more fun," Morin told HuffPost Weddings. "People were familiar with one another and were able to enjoy themselves that much more. "
