The 7 Weirdest Workout Videos Ever

The 7 Weirdest Workout Videos Ever

Now that the holidays are coming to an end, you may have started to notice a little more cushion around your midsection. All those cookies and pies, gravies and gluten tasted so good at the time, right?

With the dawn of the New Year, you may be thinking it's time to get back into shape. And what better way to do it than with laughter and a bit of quirkiness?

From Marky Mark's "fly honey" workout to our favorite Golden Girl Sophia's senior exercise video, we've rounded-up the weirdest workout videos on the web. You can thank us later.

Check out the videos (below), and tell us your favorite workout video in the comments or tweet us @HuffPostLiving.

1
Prancercise
YouTube
2013 brought us many wonderful things, but one of the greatest gifts it's given us is Prancercise, "a springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse's gait." Joanna Rohrback created the dainty fitness routine in 1989, but it gained notoriety this year -- mostly because the world wasn't ready for it until now.
2
"Take Anything You Want"
YouTube
We're not sure exactly what this video is advocating, but it appears to be instructing women in the face of an attack to have strong shoulders and to tell an attacker to "take anything you want." The video also teaches Japanese speakers to learn English (well, really just one phrase) while building up those triceps.
3
Poodle Exercise With Humans
YouTube
Who doesn't love to bring their dog along for a workout? Model Mariko Takahashi stars in this creepy, poodle-studded, Panasonic-sponsored video directed by Nagi Noda for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Apparently, the script is also a word-for-word spoof of workout guru Susan Powter's first exercise video.
4
Dance! Workout With Barbie
YouTube
Barbie's unrealistic proportions are the inspiration behind this 1992 workout video. Starring an animated stop-motion Barbie and an energetic crew of teenage girls, the video teaches such fun exercises as the "sidewalk strut" and features a Soul Train-style workout session. See if you can spot a young Jennifer Love Hewitt.
5
Estelle Getty - Young At Heart - Body Conditioning
YouTube
The hardest part about this workout video is turning on your VCR, says Estelle Getty, also known as the lovely Sophia in "Golden Girls." This workout video from 1993 is geared toward senior citizens and focuses on body posture, conditioning and getting you in shape for senior sex. As Getty puts it: "Use it or lose it!"
6
Dixie Carter's "Exorcise" Video
YouTube
When you're ready to cool down with some relaxing breathing exercises, Dixie Carter's "Exorcise" -- a clip from her 1992 workout video, "Unworkout" -- gives you her version of "something the yogis call 'the lion.'" Be afraid -- very afraid -- of that lion. The real good stuff starts around the 1:43 mark. (Hint: You might want to turn your sound down a bit.)
7
The Marky Mark Workout
YouTube
This video goes a little something like ... "POW!" You'll see what we mean soon enough. A young and incredibly chiseled "Marky" Mark Wahlberg offers us up a dish of delicious poolside "fly honeys" and lots of sexualized weight-lifting. Let's just say, there's definitely some good vibrations going on there. For real though, great video for butt-firming moves.
