Wendy Williams To Join 'Chicago: The Musical' Broadway Cast (VIDEO)

Wendy Williams made a major announcement on Monday.

The daytime talk show host will be joining the cast of "Chicago: The Musical" on Broadway. She will play Matron Mama Morton, the role played by Queen Latifah in the Oscar-winning film adaptation. While fans have watched Williams show off her dancing chops on "Dancing With The Stars" (she was unfortunately the first voted off), viewers have yet to see the talk show host sing.

In her role on Broadway, Williams will have her own number in "When You're Good to Mama." She will take the stage for seven weeks this summer, appearing on Broadway starting on Tuesday, June 25th.

"I'm so excited to sing and dance while still doing the talk show," Williams said on Monday. "It's going to be a very busy summer around here."

Just last month, Debmar-Mercury announced that "The Wendy Williams Show" will continue taping over the summer, adding more episodes to the ongoing season.
