Westboro Baptist Church Faces Protest By Kansas LGBT Community And Allies (VIDEO)

WATCH: Kansas LGBT Community And Allies Rally Against Westboro Baptist Church

A group of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) residents and allies in Topeka, Kansas, recently took to the streets to protest against the Westboro Baptist Church, which is known for its virulently anti-gay messaging.

As reported by WIBW.com, organizer Chris Love gathered about 100 people at the rally.

This is just one of many counter-protests against the WBC in recent months. In March, the anti-gay group got a taste of its own medicine when Aaron Jackson, one of the founders of Planting Peace, recruited volunteers to help paint a house that he purchased directly across from the church's compound in Topeka to match the gay pride flag.

In May of 2012, nine-year-old Josef Miles held a quiet counter-protest against picketers from the Westboro Baptist Church. Miles and his mother had taken a stroll around the Washburn University campus in Topeka and noticed a group of WBC protesters. The courageous boy then asked his mother if he could create a sign of his own.
