What if everyone saw you as someone you weren't? What if you looked at everyone else as what they weren't? What if we're all missing out on so much there is between us based on what we think, or want to see instead of what's really there? What if these big, ugly glasses we each use to view our world are preventing us from seeing -- and enjoying -- our existence as much as we could or should? What if... we all took off our big, ugly glasses? What if we started experiencing instead of seeing?

When you look at someone you've never spoken to, you make assumptions based on their appearance. You generalize how that individual may act according to how you've seen people with similar characteristics act in the past. You categorize people as athletes, nerds, goths, potheads, and hipsters, to name a few. For example, a part of you could be surprised to find out that a football star achieved a 4.0 GPA. Nathan Swan's presentation touches on the influences of evolution, culture and experience to get you to judge people based on the content of their character by taking off your big, ugly glasses of perception.
