With the nation’s attention and election discourse focused on gun violence, immigration and Hillary’s emails/Donald’s insults, AARP is hoping to elevate the issue of Social Security to center stage. The group, which represents the interest of those 50+, is making a push in the run-up to the presidential conventions and election for the candidates to explain their plans for ensuring the financial future of Social Security.

The group is not advocating for any particular policy positions, but rather just hoping to get the candidates to focus on something that is of dire importance to the nation’s seniors.
