They say "there's no place like home," but we finally put it to the test! The travel site minube along with over 100 tourism boards from Iowa to Indonesia asked travelers one simple question: what are the world's most social destinations?
During a one-month voting period, thousands of international travelers cast their votes over their social networks using the #SDAwards hashtag. Well, the tallies are in! Ladies and Gents, we're proud to present the World's Most Social Destinations!
MOST SOCIAL CITIES - This leg of the contest saw old rivalries flare up, and hometown pride helped push smaller cities like Zaragoza ahead of even the biggies! Nearly 70,000 votes for cities were cast and here are the results:

MOST SOCIAL COUNTRIES - The countries category was a tight race between Europe's traditional tourism powerhouses, with rising stars like Brazil and India also making the top 5. Interestingly, smaller tourism boards like those in Malta, Denmark, and especially Greece managed to motivate their fans and citizens and all made excellent showings!. Here are this year's winners!
