Go shoe shopping, go shoe shopping and go shoe shopping!

There are some things women can always count on, new fashion footwear for every season. Summer is here and it is time to buy the latest summer footwear at your favorite shoe retailer or on line. So, rotate the spring shoes into summer flip flops, dress sandals, backless heels and wedges. Replace the old with the new and shop for the latest in fashion footwear from designers such as Stuart Weitzman, Fendi, Pierre Hardy, Bottega Veneta, Stella McCartney, Christian Dior, Vera Wang and Marc Jacobs. This summer's fashion finds hot vibrant colors, snake skin uppers and floral prints in strap back wedges, platform sandals, moccasins, transparent heels, pointed pumps and flexible ballet flats. Unfortunately, the thing that all these different shoe styles have in common is that they are not always designed to be comfortable or supportive. Shoes can trigger foot problems. Women of all ages can experience problems when wearing footwear and foot pain does not have an age limit.

Flats and moccasins are designed with virtually zero support and wearing them all day long can tire your feet, legs and back. The arch and ball of the foot are usually the areas in the foot which can be affected the most by these types of shoe styles. Platforms, heels, wedges and pumps often times are designed with a steep slope which heads straight down towards the ground and then levels off at the toes. Those types of shoe styles can place a great deal of pressure on the ball of the foot which eventually can cause pain known as metatarsalgia. Arch fatigue, cramps and muscle spasms may also occur. Although sandals and flip flops are the footwear of choice for the summer they are also designed without adequate arch support. The lack of arch support in these types of shoes, coupled with women who have arches that collapse or flatten when walking, can cause sore muscles in the calf and general foot fatigue.

A simple summer solution to uncomfortable footwear is finding shoes that provide better support; however, that is not as easy as we know. The next best thing is finding over- the-counter foot products at the drug store or on line to doctor your shoes. There are many different arch support products available to choose from. Some are even designed to stick in the arch area of sandals, wedges, flip flops, flats and pumps and will provide the extra support needed to cradle the arch of the foot. While other types of arch support products are full length, provide support for the entire foot but have limitations because they may not fit into all the different styles one wears during the summer.

No matter what designer or style you are wearing this summer the more comfortable you are the more fun you will have.
