'What I Know Now': Oprah, Katie Couric Share Their Insights -- What Are Yours?

What Would You Write To Your Younger Self?

"Your biggest concern is how to manage your love life with Bubba. Yes, you are dating someone named Bubba," writes Oprah Winfrey ... to herself.

As Black Voices reported this morning, the May issue of O, The Oprah Magazine includes a collection of letters from highly successful women, offering well-earned wisdom to their younger selves. (The issue's cover features a fabulous photoshopped image of 62-year-old Oprah embracing 20-something Oprah.) On the publication's website, readers can get a sneak peek at some of the letters in the magazine -- including ones penned by journalist Katie Couric and actress Octavia Spencer. Couric writes:

Dear Katie,

It pays to know your stuff about sports. A lot of guy talk and bonding happens over big games and great athletes, so it helps if you're not clueless. Playing a sport like golf can be even more helpful. Whether you win or lose on the links doesn't matter -- it's being invited to play that counts.

Giving advice to your past self isn't something new. The recent web series "Dating Rules From My Future Self" built an entire plot around it. But we couldn't resist getting in on the self-reflection. So what would you say to your younger self (whether you're currently 25 or 55) if you had the chance? Let us know!
