A restaurant critic sounds like the best job in the world - free meals and the power to change lives. But there's more to the story than one might think.

A new documentary, City of Gold, gives an inside look to the process of Jonathan Gold, the LA Times' restaurant critic but it also is a profile of the unique food scene in Los Angeles. We sat down with filmmaker Laura Gabbert and Gold to talk about the film and we learned about restaurants through the lens of the critic.
