What People With Autism And Their Families Want You To Know

They explain what autism is, and what it is not.

In time for National Autism Awareness Month, we asked people on the spectrum, and their families, to tell us what autism is -- and what it isn't.

In the video above, they give us a glimpse into life with autism, a disorder that now affects 1 in 68 children, and also bust myths surrounding it. "Autism is not contagious," says one mom.

"Autism is awesome!" says one young man on the spectrum.
