In 2015, "feminism" is still treated like a dirty word at times. Over the last three months famous women like Meryl Streep, Shailene Woodley, and Marion Cotillard have all said that they are not feminists.

Their reasons have ranged from not hating men to not wanting to "take the power" away from men. But what does it really mean to say you're not a feminist?

Allow us to give you a brief refresher on what feminism is and what some people who say they aren't feminists think it is. Choosing not to identify with a movement is one thing, but rejecting it based on myths is another.
