Donald Trump has had a lot of harsh things to say about Mexicans and Muslims, but people don't know much about his own background.
He used to claim he was of Swedish descent, but that turned out to be false. His heritage is German and Scottish.
So, given his pride, I think it's safe to assume that a Trump White House will
--Make Germany our Über-ally.
--Serve schnitzel, haggis, or both at state dinners.
--Encourage Scottish independence from Great Britain and get them a great deal because he's a terrific negotiator.
--Install Black Forest cuckoo clocks all over the White House.
--Dress White house staff in Lederhosen or dirndls according to gender.
--Have "Hail to the Chief" played by a bagpiper at State Dinners.
--But remind everyone that he's not prejudiced, because "The Europeans, they love me. I'm very popular with the Europeans."
Of course, Scotlandaren't happy with him right now, despite his investments there. As Trump puts it: "I have done so much for Scotland, including building Trump International Golf Links, Scotland, which has received the highest accolades, and is what many believe to be one of the greatest golf courses anywhere in the world."
However, he feuded with Fox and that worked itself out just fine for everyone involved.
And anyone who's worried that he didn't know what the nuclear triad was at the last debate should STFU. As Gail Collins points out, as President, he "can hire somebody who knows about nuclear weapons. Somebody really great." Maybe somebody German, even.
