My first job was on the trading floor and, when you looked around the room, most of the women were executive assistants.
I worked with some great guys, but there wasn't automatically an assumption of "Let's invest in this woman." Women didn't get the same level of mentoring and sponsorship.
Mentoring isn't just a women's issue. It's an issue for everybody.
