What do you do when you see an e-mail with the subject line: 'Invitation to the White House: July 1st'? Well, if you're like most people, you'd probably question it's validity and that's exactly what I did. But the good news is, it was real. I was being invited to the
on behalf of Dame Traveler along with 40 other Instagrammers to be the first group to photograph the historic house and spread the word via hashtag

What an honor! The day was pretty much epic and it went a lot like this:

Starting the day off by entering the White House and receiving this personalized invite:

Being greeted by none other than Sunny and Bo Obama's smiley faces:

Walking up the historic steps with travel blogger Jessica of Bon Traveler.

Setting our eyes on the East Room:

And the red room:

Instagrammers and selfies galore:

And then came the Green Room:

Can't forget the Blue Room and the Dining Room:

Andddd that's a wrap!

...wait, not so fast Instagrammers, we have a surprise for you.

Yes, that's Marine One flying in... oh hey Adam.

and yes, that's Mr. President waving to us as he gets ready to fly out.

And to top it all off, strolling through the East Wing (not open to the public) as we depart the White House.

I am still pinching myself. This was one of the most honorable and incredible experiences I have yet to experience via Dame Traveler. Thank you Jenna Brayton and team for inviting us to be part of this historical event!
