Whoopi Goldberg Predicted 'The View' 20 Years Ago, And Arsenio Hall Has The Proof (VIDEO)

Whoopi Goldberg Predicted 'The View' 20 Years Ago

Whoopi Goldberg dropped by "The Arsenio Hall Show" and had to face her past. It's becoming a rite of passage on late night talk shows, but this one had a prophetic element as well. Hall had a clip from Goldberg's appearance on his talk show from 20 years ago. In it, Goldberg predicted the future that she's now a part of.

In the clip, Goldberg talked about doing a talk show with just women. "You know how Dr. Ruth talks about [sex]? Well, we were gonna talk about ‘it’ just amongst women. ‘Cause women, amongst women, talk about ‘it’ differently, than women and men talk about ‘it’ in public.” Now Goldberg is on "The View" with a bunch of women who talk about all kinds of things -- and she predicted it four years before Barbara Walters launched the show back in 1997, and fourteen years before she joined the panel herself.

She's been enjoying her time on the show, but admitted recently that she misses Elisabeth Hasselbeck. She told Vanity Fair, "I miss the girls, but I like [Jenny McCarthy]. She's a really nice lady . . . You know, I loved Elisabeth, and I really loved Joy [Behar] ... But I really like Jenny. She’s a really good person. That makes me comfortable. As long as people are not mean, I'm okay ... I e-mail Elisabeth all the time. I e-mail her all the time.”

Using phrases like "really nice lady" and "good person" make it sound like she's not grown closer to McCarthy. Maybe their bond will tighten over time. Hopefully Goldberg warms up to Walters' inevitable replacement when she retires next year.

Catch Whoopi Goldberg on "The View," weekdays at 11 p.m. EST on ABC. "The Arsenio Hall Show" is syndicated across the nation (check local listings).
