Whoopi Goldberg Fires Back At Mitt Romney Over Leaked Comments

Whoopi Goldberg Rips Mitt Romney In Twitter Rant

Mitt Romney's had a rough few days.

After surreptitiously-recorded footage of his comments at a closed-door fundraiser went public, the presidential nominee faced scathing criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike.

Now, he's also lost Whoopi Goldberg.

The actress and host of "The View" lashed out at Romney on Twitter Wednesday evening, calling him a confused candidate who "sheds ideas faster than a snake sheds skin."

She was responding to a section of the leaked video, which was secretly shot at a Boca Raton fundraiser in May, where Romney discussed going on "The View"-- and cracked a joke at Goldberg's expense.

"'The View' is high risk because of the five women on it. Only one is conservative and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular," he said. "Although the last time I was on the show, she said to me, 'You know what? I think I could vote for you.' And I said, 'I must have done something really wrong.'"

While the other ladies of "The View" addressed Romney's comments on Wednesday's show, Goldberg was absent and didn't get a chance to respond to him on air.

She more than made up for that Wednesday night.

"Well Mr Romney the man I was talking about turned into a man who flushed his ideals down the drain," she wrote. "Yes once I thought there was the possibility of a moderate republican who could make the race with Obama at least interesting. But that was Months ago before your desperation to be Presedent made u forget your ideals."

In an act of damage control earlier on Wednesday, Romney's campaign indicated that he would be returning to the show in October. It seems safe to say he won't be sitting next to Goldberg when he does.
