Why Are Historically Black Colleges Fighting For Survival?

From Martin Luther King Jr. to Chadwick Boseman, historically black colleges and universities have produced some of our nation’s most esteemed politicians, leaders and artists. But between financial woes and decreasing enrollment, many of these schools are struggling – particularly Cheyney University, the oldest HBCU in the country. Cheyney students, faculty and community leaders are fighting on behalf of the university and warning the nation what’s at stake if we lose our HBCUs.
