Widower Strikes Gold While Gardening, Finds Missing Wedding Ring

Serendipity.

A German widower got an unexpected surprise from beyond as he was tending his carrot patch. The 82-year-old retiree in Bad Münstereifel, Germany had lost his gold wedding band around three years ago.

Now, some six months after his wife’s death, the man unearthed a carrot which was encircled by the lost ring, German broadcaster WDR reports.

The AP added that the man had just recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary.

It must have been a bittersweet moment for the widower, whose name has not been made public. Last year we wrote about the sheer joy an 86-year-old widower felt after stumbling upon a special dollar bill he’d signed with his late wife.

As for the German man, his wife had predicted he’d eventually be reunited with his wedding band. Guess wives really do know best.
