Wilco's Jeff Tweedy To Headline Rahm Emanuel Fundraiser

Rahm Emanuel Gets A Rock Star Endorsement

Wilco frontman and Chicago favorite Jeff Tweedy is the latest celebrity to help Rahm Emanuel raise some cash for his mayoral campaign.

Tweedy will join another Chicago band, JC Brooks and The Uptown Sound, at Park West on January 30 for a special performance to support Emanuel's campaign. The all-ages show starts at $85 for general admission, and costs $150 for guaranteed seating with one drink ticket.

So far, Emanuel has brought in big-name supporters in his quest to replace Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. Oscar and Grammy-award winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson headlined a House of Blues fundraiser for the former White House Chief of Staff, former President Bill Clinton showered Emanuel with praise in Chicago Tuesday and "Saturday Night Live" star Andy Samberg is slated to headline another Emanuel fundraiser at the Paris Club this Friday.

Emanuel has maintained a steady lead over opponents Carol Moseley Braun, Gery Chico, Miguel del Valle, Patricia Watkins and Dock Walls. Candidates must receive at least 50 percent of the vote in the Feb. 22 primary to win outright, or a runoff will be held in April.
