Winter storm alerts have been issued from Northern Virginia to Maine as the East Coast prepares for a major Nor’easter. Winter storm Stella is expected to bring blizzard like conditions and some of the largest snowfall accumulations of the year to the Northeastern United States.

Stella is expected to arrive in the Northeast on Monday, March 13 with cold temperatures, heavy snowfall, and high winds. Snowfall is expected to be as heavy as 1-3 inches per hour at times and will continue through Tuesday Night. The storm should clear out on Wednesday with some lingering snow showers and gusty winds.

There is still some uncertainty about Stella’s exact track, but much of the Northeast could see a foot or more of snow by Wednesday morning. This might be the biggest snowstorm of the season for the region and it comes just in time for some Northeastern ski resorts that have been battling high temperatures for the last couple weeks.

If you are a Northeastern Skier, Wednesday and Thursday could be some of the best skiing this season. It might be time to cash in on some of that time off that you’ve been saving up!
