Wolf Blitzer Could Get Afternoon Timeslot: Report

Another Shakeup At CNN?

Wolf Blitzer may be moving one of his CNN hours to the early afternoon, TVNewser reported Monday.

Blitzer has been anchoring during the 1 PM hour quite a bit recently, and the site's Alex Weprin wrote that he could shift permanently to that slot, in addition to retaining either one or both hours of his current 5-7 block. The move could potentially free up space for the newly revived "Crossfire."

In early June, reports surfaced that Blitzer might have his hours cut back. CNN denied the reports at the time, and the latest rumors indicate that he will retain his current amount of airtime, if not his lengthy afternoon block.

The move would be just the latest round of tinkering for CNN, which is still in the midst of one of its biggest overhauls in memory under new chief Jeff Zucker.
