Wolf Blitzer Grills Steve King Over DREAM Act Comments (VIDEO)

WATCH: Blitzer Grills GOP Rep Over Controversial Immigration Comments

Wolf Blitzer repeatedly grilled Rep. Steve King on Wednesday over his controversial comments about immigration.

King, who opposes the DREAM Act — legislation that would provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants brought to the U.S. as children — and said recently, "For everyone who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there that weigh 130 pounds and they’ve got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert." Republican leaders like John Boehner and Eric Cantor later condemned King's remarks.

On Wednesday's "AC360," Blitzer asked King if he would like to "revise or amend" his comments. King doubled down on his statement, adding that he did not say that "the vast majority of those who would come in here are drug smugglers."

Blitzer asked him to respond to Republican lawmakers who called his claim "irresponsible" and "reprehensible." King speculated that they hadn't seen his full remarks, to which the CNN host responded, "So you think John Boehner and Eric Cantor, Raul Labrador, would react so bitterly and angrily against you if they didn't get a full picture of what you actually said accurately?"

After playing the clip, Blitzer held King's feet to the fire. Later, he repeatedly asked King about the source of his claim and whether it was customs and borders officials.
