You may have heard of mindfulness or mindfulness meditation. It's the act of being present in this moment in time. Often (as someone living with chronic anxiety) I worry about the future. I can tell myself to stop doing that and to focus on the right now, but it doesn't necessarily work.

Here's what I do know: living with bipolar disorder, ADHD and chronic anxiety is exhausting. I don't know what to expect from one day to the next. I have good days and bad days like any other human being. I was talking with my good friend Katie Klabusich about the struggle of living with mental health issues. She happens to be my ADHD superpowered soul twin. We bond over unfinished sentences and lost keys as you do with our diagnosis.

Katie and I wanted to honor the daily challenges associated with living with chronic mental health conditions. Together we created #WorkWithToday, a hashtag that encourages people to embrace what is happening with them right this moment. It's important to remember that we have limited control over what our brains do. Sure, we can respond or react, but we cannot predict from one moment to the next how we will feel.

#WorkWithToday encourages people to speak about their current reality. Maybe today is hard for you, or maybe you are feeling manic and need to expend that energy. Perhaps depression is making it difficult to get out of bed or take a shower, whatever your day is, we would like to know about it.

May is mental health awareness month, and this hashtag couldn't come at a better time. We invite you to speak about your day on Twitter using the hashtag #WorkWithToday. It's a reminder that all we can do is be in this moment. There is no tomorrow, there is no yesterday, there is only today and this minute, this second and you have the power to harness whatever energy you have right now.

So what are you waiting for? #WorkWithToday, seize the moment and be who you are. You can only start from your truth, so what is real and true to you? We want to know. Tell us using this powerful hashtag on Twitter.

#WorkWithToday- you got this!
