This year the American Art Awards (www.AmericanArtAwards.com), scored by the 25 Best Galleries In America, had winners from 40 countries including Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, England, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UK, USA, and Wales.
In CATEGORY 26, NAIVE - HUMAN FIGURE, galleries awarded Iran's Maryam Deyhim, a previous multi-winner, both 1st and 2nd Place. Two paintings by France's Doudoudidon tied for 3rd. Tying for 4th was Canada's Chantal Leblanc and UK's Mihangel Jones. Italy's Annunziata, a previous 1st Place winner, won as well, completing the winners list.

Maryam Deyhim, a multi-winner this year and in previous American Art Awards, is a skilled artist with a distinctive style. Her work is characterised by fine attention to detail and acute observation of society and human behaviour in general.
Since starting to paint seriously five years ago Maryam has built an impressive body of work and continues to experiment with a variety of media.
Maryam’s special interest is in the way that people interact and co-exist both in the modern-day environment and the commonality and contrasts with the past. Maryam’s art captures and contrasts the emotional energy and vibrancy of the crowd or group with the more profound, and often more genuine, emotional response of the individual.
Artist Statement: "Art is more than just an activity that brings pleasure and relaxation for me; it is my means of self-expression, the point of access to a world without boundaries and artificial constraints.
