Interesting Things: Swimming Pool In The Resort Of San Alfonso del Mar In Algarrobo City In Chile..

Sure, there are many memorable hotel pools -- the one at Singapore's stunning Marina Bay Sands springs to mind -- but none can compete with the world's largest outdoor swimming pool at Chile's San Alfonso del Mar Resort.

The enormous man-made pool, set along the coastline, is larger than 20 Olympic-size pools and holds a whopping 66 million gallons of water, according to The Daily Mail. Crystal Lagoons, the creator of the pool, claims it's six times bigger than its closest competitor, the Orthlieb Pool in Casablanca, Morocco.

Not only is the pool long, but it's deep. It holds the Guinness World Record for being the world's deepest (115 feet) and up keep costs a cool 2 million pounds annually.

The nearly 20-acre pool sucks water directly in from the sea using a computer-controlled suction and filtration system.
