Theresa L. Owens was already in trouble when she allegedly careened her car into a group of cyclists on Fiesta Island in San Diego on Friday. When police found her, she was also allegedly high on meth -- and her stash was stashed in her vagina.

She pleaded not guilty to charges of DUI with injury and meth possession at her arraignment Tuesday, looking distraught, NBC San Diego reports.

"Tell them I’m so sorry," she whispered to her attorney at the hearing. She's being held on $300,000 bail.

San Diego police say that at about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Owens was driving the wrong way and struck about 10 cyclists who were finishing up a training ride. Six of them were transported to the hospital, and one victim -- Juan Carlos Vinolo -- was paralyzed and remains in critical condition.

Owens was reportedly acting "erratically" after the crash. She was taken to a hospital, where a nurse found a bag of meth hidden in her vagina.

One of the cyclists released a video to 10 News (embedded above) showing the biking group stunned in the aftermath of the crash.

Owens faces 12 years in prison if convicted.

A fund has been set up to help pay for Vinolo's medical expenses. Click here to learn more.
