Minnesota Police Department Trolls One Direction In Anti-Drunk Driving Tweet

Police in Minnesota poked fun at One Direction in order to spread a very serious message over the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Wyoming Police Department tweeted Wednesday that anyone they busted for drunk driving would face dire consequences. Namely, they’d be forced to listen to One Direction cover bands as officers transported them to jail.

That’s right ― not even the British boy band’s original tracks, but tribute acts’ versions. The amusing post immediately went viral, and garnered thousands of likes and retweets in the first 24 hours.

The department followed it up with a more serious warning of what could happen to people tempted to drink alcohol and then get behind the wheel:

It returned to trolling One Direction two days later, however, after Twitter user @American_red13 asked what would happen if the suspect actually liked the group’s music:
