Every year, the radio station Z100 throws an annual Jingle Ball Concert. For 2012, they are having some amazing artists perform, such as Justin Bieber, Cher Lloyd, Fun., One Direction and many more. Here is a background on the artists that will be performing at Z100's Jingle Ball Concert:
Justin Bieber: Winner of multiple awards from Artist of the Year to Fan Choice Award, Justin Bieber has done a lot since his discovery on Youtube in 2008. Now, he is one of the biggest stars in music history. His music is incredible because he is able to do all different types of styles, and he is able to put his own style and twist on it. In addition, his recent album "Believe" includes his #1 hit "As Long as You Love Me."
Taylor Swift: Country pop star Taylor Swift will be joining the Jingle Ball family this year. Since her debut single in 2006, Swift has had multiple albums, dozens of hit songs and thousands of screaming fans. There is something about her songs that speaks to her fans -- she is able to say exactly what they are feeling, and that is why they absolutely love her. Her most recent album "Red" includes songs such as "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "Red," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "22."
Fun.: The members of the indie pop band Fun. are Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff, and Andrew Dost. They have released two albums: "Aim and Ignite" and "Some Nights." Their hit song "We are Young" reached number one on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 and Digital Song charts. Their song "Some Nights" was their album's second single. Both "We are Young" and "Some Nights" reached platinum status in the United States. Fun.'s music has an amazing beat, and Ruess's voice is as good live as it is on the album!
Cher Lloyd: British pop star Cher Lloyd was discovered on the British "X Factor" in 2010. After coming in fourth on the show, Simon Cowell signed her to his record label, Syco. She is a sweet, kindhearted and talented girl that is excited to be performing in the Jingle Ball Concert. Her music is a mix between rap, hip-hop and pop.
One Direction: The British-Irish boy band consisting of members Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne was created on the British "X Factor." One Direction's songs are very upbeat and fun! The boys sound absolutely incredible on the album. Now, are you ready to take them home? I know I am!
Ed Sheeran: Ed Sheeran is another singer-songwriter from across the pond. His album "+" has gone quintuple platinum in the United Kingdom. Sheeran won two Brit awards this past year. His hit song "The A Team" has also won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. His voice is really beautiful, his music isn't the kind of music that makes you want to get up and dance, but it is the kind that will warm your heart. He has recently collaborated with both One Direction and Taylor Swift, and he just announced that he will be joining Taylor Swift on her nationwide tour around North America. That is definitely going to be an amazing concert!
The Wanted: The English-Irish boy band formed in 2009 consists of band members Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes. Their number-one single "Glad You Came" topped the Singles Chart in the United Kingdom for two weeks and in Ireland for five weeks. Their music is the type of music you would listen to at a party -- it is fun and upbeat. Although they might be cuties, they are defiantly feisty. Recently The Wanted got into a fight on Twitter with One Direction -- but hopefully they can all get along!
B.o.B: The American hip-hop, singer-songwriter and record producer B.o.B first rose to fame with his debut single "Nothin' on You," which reached number one in both the United States and the United Kingdom. He soon after released his second single "Airplanes" and his third single "Magic."
Jason Mraz: Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz first rose to prominence at a San Diego coffee shop. After years of trying, his international breakthrough came with the release of the single "I'm Yours," which peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100. He is able to play the guitar, piano, mandolin, mandola, banjo and ukulele.
Ne-Yo: Ne-Yo is an American pop and R&B recording artist, record producer, dancer and actor. He began his career as a songwriter, and since then he has won three Grammy Awards for his musical work. His music is very upbeat -- it is the perfect music to dance to. Ne-Yo is not only a pop star; he is also the father of Madilyn Grace Smith and Mason Evan Smith. Wouldn't you love to be his kids?
Olly Murs: An English singer-songwriter, musician and TV presenter, Olly Murs was the runner-up on the British "X Factor" in 2009. Simon Cowell signed him soon after to Syco Music. His first number-one hit was "Please Don't Let Me Go," which was followed by "Thinking Of Me." He later released his third number-one hit, "Heart Skips A Beat." To date, Murs has sold over 5 million albums. His music is fun and puts a smile on anyone's face.
As you can see, the lineup for Jingle Ball is incredible! All of the artists are very talented and fun performers.
