The new iOS7 has thought of just about everything, including how to make divorce a little bit easier. With the "Block this Contact" feature, you can now get a temporary break from your pesky soon-to-be-ex who troubles you with annoying texts or phone calls.
You no longer need to be victim to your ex's harassing calls or barrage of texts. You have the power to block contacts for as little or as long as you'd like. This feature makes it easy to block calls, incessant texts and FaceTime requests from unwanted contacts.
How to block a call:
Step One: Open the Phone App and go to your contact list.
Step Two: Select the contact that you want to block, then scroll to the bottom.
Step Three: Select "Block this Caller" and confirm. You will no longer receive calls, messages or FaceTime requests from this contact.
Step Four: Breathe a long sigh of relief and enjoy your liberation. (Optional) To UnBlock, simply follow the same steps, selecting "Unblock this Caller."
VARIATION: If a number is not in your contact list, use the following directions instead.
Step One: Open a text message for the offending number and select "contact."
Step Two: Select the circled 'i' on the right of the drop down menu.
Step Three: Scroll down and select "Block this Caller."
The best part of this feature is its impermanence. You might not want to block contact from your ex forever... but sometimes, it's nice to know you won't have to hear or read nasty messages for an entire weekend! Give yourself a break from the negativity and chaos or use this tool to help you set boundaries.
If you don't have iOS7 or want even more peace and quiet, turn off your phone or use the "Do Not Disturb" feature to set quiet times. Do Not Disturb is great because you can toggle it for meetings or a good night's sleep.
Your phone belongs to you and you have the power to choose when and where to use it.
