Maya Angelou once stated, "I'm just someone who likes cooking and for whom sharing food is a form of expression." Growing up I never understood how cooking expressed emotions but as I've grown I too have learned firsthand how to express myself in the kitchen.
For months my family has spent a substantial amount of money on take-out meals. It was never that I or my husband couldn't cook but with the hustle and bustle of life we just couldn't find time. We knew finding time to cook at home would not only save money in the long run but would be healthier for us; the transition wasn't easy but we knew we had to do it.
As I began the journey like many women across the world to cook more and eat out less I knew I had to make it fun and exciting. It wasn't easy nor was it cheap but I eventually identified items that helped improve my cooking and my cooking time. Some of these items can be found in practically every America home while others are a bit more complex. Regardless, each of my favorite items in my kitchen are designed to do exactly what I want, make cooking fun and easy.
French Oven
Much like a slow cooker the French oven has been super beneficial to me as a cook. The French oven absorbs the heat in food and keeps it warm for longer. It is also resistant to high temperatures.
Chopper
I absolutely having to chop vegetables with a knife. I am always terrified that my excessive chopping could cause me to cut my thumb and as a cook I need all my fingers. On the days that I choose to be safer and give my fingers a rest I chop items with a chopper. This has been one of my favorite household products.
Orgeenic Pans
We all hate greasy pans. What I hate even more is having to constantly spray my pans with grease before cooking so things don't stick. If you hate the mess grease leaves behind, then you'll love this product. Orgeenic pans will give you the chance to leave grease stains behind, forever.
CrockPot
This is one of my favorite oldies but goodies when it comes to cooking at home for my family. I love crock pots and slow cookers simply because it gives me the opportunity to do all the things I would typically do during the day while also cooking for my family.
Steamer
Have you ever cooked veggies for dinner but completed them before the rest of your meal was done? I have and purchasing a steamer keeps these veggies hot as you wait for the rest of your meal to be completed. This was very beneficial to me especially when my daughter was much younger and we had to reheat her baby food.
