YouTuber and martial artist Shane Fazen attempted to break the world record for “Longest Uncut Choreographed Fight Scene” in his short film Trigger. The 6-minute and 51-second scene rivals Tony Jaa’s 3-minute and 47-second scene in 2005’s The Protector (also known as Ong Bak.)

Inspired by 80’s action movies like Jean Claude Van Damme’s Kickboxer and Tony Jaa’s The Protector, Shane combined his martial arts training with fight choreography and acting in Trigger. He’s previously performed choreographed fights on his YouTube channel, but this was his first attempt at shooting an entire fight scene in one take.

In Trigger, Shane has to save his wife, Marie, from a gang of highly skilled villains, each specialized in a particular martial art ranging from Boxing to Judo to Krav Maga. His own MMA skills are continuously challenged as he becomes battered and exhausted with each passing second.

The video has been submitted to Guinness Book Records and awaits the official title as “Longest Uncut Choreographed Fight Scene.”

Shane Fazen is a black belt in taekwondo and competed in his first professional Muay Thai Match in Thailand in 2010. He started his YouTube channel, FightTips, in 2007 to teach martial arts and self defense online. FightTIPS, which he now runs with his wife Marie Fazen, recently hit 1 million subscribers and produced Trigger to thank their supporters.

To capture this epic battle, FightTIPS teamed up with GearMark Pictures, director Roy Arwas, and a multi-talented group of actors and fighters including: personal trainer P.J. Shirdan, TKD world champion Steph Rosales, martial artist Ando Mierzwa, social influencer Ali Spagnola, pro MMA fighter Dmitry Gerasimov, YouTuber and actress Tess Kielhamer, bodybuilder Jason “Big J” English, fight choreographer Daniel Ma, stuntman Brian Le and pro MMA fighter Marcus Kowal.
