23 Things You'll Only Understand If You Still Live At Home

There's no place like home, right?

Living back at home comes with its own special set of highs and lows. On the plus side, it's rent-free, you'll always have a fully-stocked fridge, and forget calling an Uber when mom and dad are just a phone call away. But there are days when being a full-grown adult under parental supervision can get really frustrating. Maybe some of these situations will ring a bell:

1
Your mother becomes your new confidant and BFF, and you let her in on all the gossip.
2
You don't comprehend why your parents wake up at the crack of dawn on the weekends when they don't even have work.
3
Or why they feel the need to try and get you to do the same and interrupt your slumber.
4
Having friends over gets weird when your parents try too hard to fit in.
5
And forget bringing any romantic interest back home. Not worth the awkward drama.
6
So you settle for the hermit lifestyle.
7
You feel like an alcoholic living with two infinitely sober adults who rarely hit the bars.
8
And whenever you stumble home drunk at some ungodly hour, you're greeted with this warm welcome home.
9
The look on your mom's face when she sees your room in a messy state is enough to drive you crazy.
10
On the plus side, you'll never need to call an Uber when mom and dad are just a phone call away.
11
When your friends complain about their apartments and independent life, you kindly remind them of your current situation.
12
People tell you to quit complaining and move out as if that's even an option for you right now.
13
You obviously love your parents, but tensions run high when your social revolves entirely around them.
14
When your parents try to argue over what to watch on Netflix, you simply won't have it.
15
Having to abide by your parents' house rules as a grown adult gets VERY irritating.
16
Even your parents get sick of you and your crap from time to time.
17
You're reminded on a daily basis that you were raised by crazy people, to put things lightly.
18
And that your family comes with its own special brand of drama.
19
But whenever living back home gets you down, you just remember that at least you're living rent-free.
20
Plus it's great having a fully stocked fridge and an endless supply of food.
21
Having that extra help on laundry days is pretty damn awesome.
22
At the end of the day, you remember that living with the 'rents isn't all that bad.
23
Because you know there's no place like home.

Love you, mom and dad. Promise we'll move out soon!
